Share your levy

From 2018 all Government levy payers will be able to share 10% of their levy funding with Government accredited Apprenticeship Training Agencies (ATAs).

This is great news for large, levy paying contractors who want to support apprenticeships on projects but who rely on their supply chain to help deliver employment and skills outcomes.

What is an ATA? click here

Often, a main contractor will manage a construction project, with the various trades delivered on site directly through the supply chain.  Those supply chains play a significant role in helping a main contractor to deliver against employment and skills targets.

The recent structural changes to apprenticeships mean that all employers now have increased responsibilities and must guarantee employment for the full duration of the apprenticeship training and assessment AND all of this must be linked to a ‘real job’ on completion.  The only exception to this rule is for apprentices employed by a Shared Apprenticeship Scheme or an Apprenticeship Training Agency.

TrAC is an ATA & Shared Apprenticeship Scheme and was named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer in January 2017

By sharing levy payments with TrAC, contractors can:

  • support the employment of more apprentices
  • help apprentices get more experience with different contractors
  • faciliate the movement of apprentices around various sub-contractors maximising available site training time
  • minimise the employment responsibilities for themselves and supply chain
  • ensure supply chains engage with and deliver apprentices on projects
  • meet social value targets
  • add value to supply chain relationships
