What's the story?

Justin Phillips, Level 3 Construction Management Apprentice on placement with Morgan Sindall who achieved Highly Commended Finalist at last year’s Awards, launched the 2017 Young Builder of the Year Awards, at Youthbuild UK’s Building Pathways Event, held in Cambridge on 17th May.

At the launch event Justin told how he had transformed his life from being a young offender to becoming a management trainee. He also said how much attending the Awards Ceremony at the House of Commons had meant to him and encouraged everyone to apply this year.

The Awards celebrate the achievements of young people who overcome personal barriers to succeed in the construction industry and is open to young builders from across the UK.  20 finalists will be invited to the Awards Ceremony which will be held at the House of Commons on Wednesday 18th October 2017, when the winners will be announced.
